To Color or not to color?

I'm thinking light dusting of some muted more natural colors.

Shaving down oil pastels and dusting them onto the flowers was suggested.

All over the flowers, the tips, or just the centers?...

Only one color or multiple? 

And if multiple, stick to one color per flower or try some blending?
