Belknap Fall Festival

This morning I partook in Fall festivities. Art fairs and farmers markets are one of my favorite things about this lovely season we call Fall.

I saw many wonderful artists including a Louisville based duo who specializes in Screen Printing, Kin Ship Press. They focus on making art prints, home goods and apparel.

Another local artist that caught my attention: Madpixel Art and Design. They are a  design company that does print design, web design and photography.


The Louisville Proud artists were out today at the fair, Wadia Newman has wonderful Original Pen and Ink Renderings, Lithographs and Stationary.

Judy Rogers paints beautiful realistic pictures of landmarks around Louisville and does portraits as well.

But most of all Adrienne Callander was there with some of her infamous felted bowls. As well as her friend Angela Mobley with her beautiful fiber art.

Antique Press at UL

I passed this everyday for weeks outside the Art Education department and wondered what it was. Finally I remembered to ask my professor Barbara Hanger about it and she told me it is an antique press they used to use for print making. How cool!! I think its wonderfully rustic.

Paper Lace (in progress)

 I created 27 sheets of this paper using strips from the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I then decided to cut away the negative space between the strips to let the form that they created become more apparent. I intend to install them on the wall in the studio so they create this large continuous form. This is my progress thus far.
